SEMINARS / WORKSHOPS / TRAINING PROGRAMS


Program Delivery:

Fernwood Consulting Group Inc. designs and delivers training programs for a variety of clients. We specialize in offering retirement planning workshops to public sector organizations, and have provided these programs to clients such as the Province of Ontario, the City of Toronto, the Yukon Territorial Government, the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board, Yukon College, the Anglican Diocese of Toronto, and Public Works and Government Services Canada.

Workshops are typically one to two full days in length, and cover topics such as evaluating income needs in retirement; sources of income (employer pension, government benefits, personal savings); tax planning strategies; cash management and investment planning; estate planning.

Participants complete a questionnaire ahead of time in order to organize their own financial information. Case studies, group discussion, and individual exercises provide ample opportunity for participants to put the concepts into practice.


Development of Written Training Materials:

We also develop written training materials on financial planning for a variety of audiences. Organizations such as the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI), the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC), CCH Canadian, the Knowledge Bureau, and Advocis have called on us to prepare training and testing material for students at various stages of their financial planning careers.
